EMERGENCY VISA ON SATURDAYS OR OTHER CLOSED HOLIDAYS-IS ISSUED ONLY IN CASE OF SUDDEN EXTREME EMERGENCY; LIKE DEATH OR SERIOUS ACCIDENT OR SUDDEN SERIOUS ILLNESS (WITH PRIOR APPOINTMENT) AND THE PERSON IS HAVING CONFIRMED TICKET FOR THAT DAY OR NEXT DAY AND DOCUMENTS TO PROVE THAT EXTREME EMERGENCY .  PAYMENT FOR VISA ON SATURDAY IS ACCEPTED IN CASH ONLY.

EMERGENCY VISA ON WORKING DAYS (Timings 10.00-12.30 PM)

Emergency Visa can only be applied by a persons of Indian descent holding a US passport.
Emergency visa services are provided to facilitate visits to India because of unfortunate incidents of loss of life, accident or serious illness of parents, children and nearest relatives.
Emergency Visa can be obtained on the same day subject to approval from the Consulate in PERSON
Type of Emergency Visa:
 

1.

  Medical Grounds- Can this be any like self, family, relatives or acquaintance.
 

2.

  Legal Commitment- Self only or can be in case of the above as well.
Process to follow:

  Identify the need
 

 

  If it is from the above listed types, then ask for supporting documents on the letter head of the Reputed Medical Practitioner or Court Order

If the above documents are available, fill the online application  take a print and  visit to the Consulate directly  between 10.00-12.30 PM EST FOR APPROVAL  for emergency Visa, along with other documents (Naturalization Certificate, Residence proof (Driving license or utility bill), Renunciation Certificate (if not yet renounced Indian citizenship- Last held Indian Passport , if Naturalized more than ten years ago and last held Indian passport is not available please provide copy of birth certificate or school leaving certificate or voters cards or driving license or ration card or any other document issued by Indian government establishing your identity as of Indian) and  photographs (Two-one should pased on the application form at place provided) and confirmed air-ticket.  Ticket should not be later than 5 days from the date of applying for EMERGENCY VISA.  In case of MINORS application has to be signed by both the parents and accompanied by Birth Certificate, Passport copy of both the Parents, residence proof of any of the parents, and if the parents are holding Indian passports- copy of their visa status.

Payment can be made in CASH or CASHIER's CHEQUE Or MONEY ORDERS.  NO PERSONAL CHEQUES ARE ACCEPTED

PS: CONSULATE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REJECT ANY VISA APPLICATION WITHOUT ASSIGNING REASONS.
